Third North is awesome. The RA staff is seriously usually the best chosen, so they are normal and everything. The dining hall is good and there is a nice Quick Stop. At the same time it is kinda far from campus, especially for your freshman year. Most Sophomore's at NYU live in Union Square their sophomore year so if you're a freshman you should live close to campus and experience more of the west village. Although since your room is the biggest you will have the most pre games. Also the kitchen is nice, but most freshman don't cook honestly

Far away from where most classes are, but it does have kitchens, and a study room on every floor, so its actually a pretty nice place to live. Plus, it has a dining hall!

Smaller than a typical campus dorm room for any other university, but given it's location in Manhattan it's perfectly acceptable and to be expected.

Living close to Union Square rather than Washington Square is a blessing! The walk to class is about ten or fifteen minutes, but hey, New York is a walking city, get used to it!

Its a farther walk than some of the other dorms, but you're near Palladium (the gym) and Trader Joe's. The walk really isn't that bad. You have a kitchen and large fridge which is nice and the rooms are generally of decent size, though some are significantly larger than others.

Third north is great because it is close to Union Square which is much more interesting and convenient than Washington Square in my opinion. A block away from the gym, decent dining hall in the building, treadmill (barely works, but enough for a quickie) in the basement, better dining hall a block away. Having a kitchen is great, even if only for the fridge and the extra cabinet space. Also 3 blocks from St Marks, home to the seediest nightwalkers, finest piercing/tattoo parlors, most numerous headshops, and the best falafel around for only 2.50 (mamoun's)
