Without a doubt the best freshmen residence hall here at Georgetown, and anyone who says otherwise does so because they didn't get New South. Yes, the common rooms are a bit small, and the tv's are little with limited channels. However, there's a full kitchen with everything you need to cook and people spend a bunch of time in the common rooms studying and socializing. There's 2 public bathrooms and shower-rooms for each sex, and for the most part they're clean. That's pretty much where any "bad" things about New South end though. The floors are long so you're constantly seeing people and getting to know everyone on the floor, the rooms are the biggest rooms available for freshmen at Georgetown, and each room is equipped with its own sink. Not having to leave the room to do simple things like brush your teeth or wash dishes or get water to fill up your water filter is such a convenience. Location-wise, we're right in between the library and Leo's - what more could you want? Then, about half of the building has the view of the Potomac, with the 3rd and 4th floors having the absolute best views, only rivaled by Village A. Honestly, there's no better dorm for freshmen here at Georgetown

The bathrooms are pretty disgusting. They only get cleaned about twice a week and with 50+ girls using one shower room, it's pretty gross. However, I think my floor was just a particularly nasty group of girls haha! Most people have no regard for common courtesy; why would you ever scream down a hallway? Nicest freshman dorm for sure though. Just really loud, gross bathrooms.

New South is probably the best freshmen's dorm on campus. With sinks in each spacious room and a killer location-- Leo's is a mere 100 feet away!--New South makes living on campus luxurious. The large floors and long halls amplify noise, making for interesting late nights as party-goers return to their rooms. Study space outside the bedroom is non-existent, but the social space is amazing; residents just seem friendlier, too (probably because of their awesome rooms!).

New South was clean and a good location to live, but, like all dorms at Georgetown, desperately needs to be updated and made more attractive.

I enjoyed my freshman year in New South very much. The traditional style dormitories were very conducive to making friends.
