Best freshman dorm option. Clean, quiet, and conveniently located near Thurston and Elliott. Best: new and CLEAN bathrooms/rooms/furniture, quiet but close enough to Thurston to not be isolated, Carvings (small food/convenience store) located next door. Worst: rooms are reasonable for freshman dorms, but that's not saying much - they're still quite small and narrow. Bathrooms are shared between 4 people with no locks between rooms, and you have no control over who your suitemates are. Only kitchen is in the basement, which is quite inconvenient.

Great Freshman Year Residence Hall! Not a non-stop party dorm but not a library either. Fantastic rooms! Should be a top choice for any GW Freshman

I really liked Potomac when I lived there as a Freshman! It was really comfortable and clean. I would much prefer it over Thurston, or some of the older Freshman dorms on campus. It's greatest downfall in my eyes was that there was only one kitchen in the basement.

Freshmen residence hall. The rooms are tiny, but looking back they seemed okay at the time. The rooms are all really new, and back then really clean because of freshmen house cleaning but that apparently is all gone. No kitchens, but you get a nice microwave and refrigerator. Overall, pretty sweet for a freshmen hall.

Potomac Hall was a nice freshman living experience because of the close-knit community on every floor, and because the RA's are always helpful when you have an issue or are just trying to find your way around the big GW bubble as a college freshman. The shared bathrooms and no kitchen were MAJOR ISSUES, however, since I value my privacy and had to accommodate my life to the demands of other people all the time, but that's a college experience in itself I guess.

Best overall freshman dorm available: jack-and-jill style rooms (two doubles connected through a bathroom) with gallery-like rooms. Good amenities and newer furniture, amazing bathrooms, good social scene, great location.

For a freshman dorm it is very spacious. For those freshman that want a clean and new building living experience it is great. Potomac is also conveniently close to Thurston, the other large freshman dorm.

Potomac was a good dorm as a freshman. It was clean and in a good location to get to other classes. There is a kitchen in the basement in case you did want to cook or bake anything, which I definitely did. We did have to share a bathroom with the room next to us, but it was a good way to meet the other suitemates.

Pretty good as freshman dorms go. Good location, small floors. Generally not crazy. Newest freshman dorm too.
